Baton of Hope UK, creators of the UK’s biggest suicide prevention initiative, driven by a vision to make a tangible impact on reducing the number of suicides. Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Administrator to support our dedicated team of Trustees. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our organisation, supporting our mission to create a safer and more supportive environment for individuals at risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the team, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence.
  • Database Management: Maintain and update our contact database, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
  • Communication: Handle incoming enquiries via phone, email, and social media, directing them to the appropriate team members.
  • Event Coordination: Assist in the planning and execution of events, workshops, and campaigns, including logistics, registration, and communication with participants.
  • Document Management: Prepare and manage documents, reports, and presentations, ensuring they are filed and accessible to the team.
  • Financial Administration: Assist with basic financial tasks such as invoicing, expense tracking, and budget monitoring.
  • Support to Trustees: Provide administrative support to Trustees, including diary management, travel arrangements, and project coordination.

  • Organisational Skills: Exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Proficiency in Office Software: Competent in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365) and other relevant software.
  • Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Discretion and Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
  • Passion for the Cause: A genuine interest in mental health and suicide prevention, with a commitment to the vision and mission of Baton of Hope UK.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within a charity or non-profit organisation.
  • Knowledge of mental health and suicide prevention is an advantage but not essential.
