Expanding Our Impact: Join Our Board of Trustees

Would you like to be part of Baton of Hope, the ground-breaking national suicide prevention charity?

Following our award-winning tour of the UK in June and July 2023 (the biggest suicide prevention initiative the nation has ever seen), we are looking to expand our charity by appointing 2 new trustees. Do you have the skills and the passion to help us to reduce the stigma, challenge the status quo and reduce the number of suicides?

Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50 and men and women under 35 in the UK – we need change now!

A relatively new charity, Baton of Hope is looking to expand and transform to meet the challenges and opportunities following the successful inaugural tour of the Baton and our first national conference in May 2024. We have exciting plans including Tour 25 next year and the rolling out of our extensive Workplace Pledge to employers across the UK.

Looking for Passionate and Skilled Trustees

The charity is looking for trustees who share its vision and passion and who can bring the skills needed to achieve its purpose, working alongside the existing trustees.  The charity welcomes all applications and is particularly looking for experienced trustees in the following areas:

  • Fundraising – with a track record in individual and corporate giving, grant applications or sponsorship.
  • Event management and the experience of working with volunteers.

While many of those associated with the charity have lived experience of suicide risk, this is not a requirement as the charity wishes to achieve diversity of views and experience on its Board to reflect society and respond to the national conversation about how we approach suicide, how we talk about it and how we support those affected by it.

Commitment and Application Details

The Board currently meets monthly online and is looking for committed individuals from across the UK who will inspire hope through action and be part of the national conversation around suicide prevention.

Applications are open until midnight on 16 August 2024.
